About the species

Chindongo sp. 'minutus mozambique' is a small undescribed mbuna recorded along the south-central Mozambique shore of Lake Malawi. Its trade name links it to the described species Chindongo minutus — Latin for 'small' or 'minute,' a reference to its diminutive size even by the standards of the dwarf mbuna — with 'Mozambique' marking this form's own range on the lake's eastern shore. It has not itself been formally described.
