Crossocheilogobio tafangensis is a small gudgeon of the Gobionidae from eastern China, described by Wang in 1935 from a stream at Ta-Fang, Zhejiang. Stores have sold it as Microphysogobio tafangensis.

Taxonomy & naming

Wang described the species in 1935 from a stream at Ta-Fang, Yenchow, Chekiang (Zhejiang), China. The Catalog of Fishes places it in Crossocheilogobio, and the store listing under Microphysogobio reflects an earlier genus. FishBase has no summary page for it under the current name.

Morphology

A small, bottom-living gudgeon. Its maximum size is not recorded in the sources the atlas uses.

Habitat

Known from streams in eastern China. Water parameters are not recorded.
