Ceratobranchia is a genus of small characid tetras from the western Amazon basin, recorded in the atlas from Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. At 1.5–3 in, its five species are small, likely stream-dwelling schooling fish, typical of the many modestly sized genera scattered through the large family Characidae.
None of the five atlas species carries a common name, and Ceratobranchia has essentially no footprint in the aquarium trade - this is a genus of scientific rather than hobby interest, known mainly from ichthyological survey work rather than importer catalogs. Conservation data are sparse across the group: three Least Concern, one Data Deficient, and one Not Evaluated, leaving most of the genus without a clear threat picture either way.
