Microdevario is a genus of tiny cyprinid fish, part of the danio and rasbora group, distributed across Myanmar, China, and Thailand in Southeast Asia. The 4 species in the atlas are among the smallest schooling fish kept in the hobby, just 0.5–1 in at full size, slender and torpedo-shaped, typical of small danionins adapted to slow, shaded forest streams and pools.
The Green Neon Rasbora (Microdevario kubotai) is the genus's clear hobby standout, a long-established nano-aquarium fish valued for its iridescent blue-green lateral stripe and peaceful shoaling behaviour in planted tanks; the Burmese Golden Rasbora (M. gatesi) is a less common but similarly diminutive relative. M. microphthalmus and M. nanus are seen mainly in specialist or scientific collections. Because of their minute size, the genus is suited only to nano and small planted setups with fine-particle foods and other equally small tankmates. Of the 4 species, 3 are Least Concern and 1 is Not Evaluated, suggesting no major conservation alarm at genus level.
