Sectoria is a small genus of loaches native to hill streams of southern China, Laos, and Thailand. The atlas covers 2 species, with a fairly wide size spread for a stone-loach-type genus - from a compact 1.5 in up to 4 in - suggesting some variation in habitat and lifestyle across the two species rather than a single tight body plan. As with most loaches from this region, they are bottom-oriented fish built for gripping the substrate in flowing water.
Neither species has any real presence in the aquarium trade or hobbyist literature - this is a genus known almost entirely from taxonomic and regional survey work. Both atlas species carry a Data Deficient IUCN status, which for a fast-water Southeast Asian loach genus usually reflects a lack of dedicated field assessment rather than any specific evidence of decline; data are sparse enough that little more can be said with confidence.
