Sikukia is a genus of Southeast Asian cyprinid fish known from the Mekong basin and neighboring drainages - the atlas records Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and China. Atlas species run 4.5–7 in, a moderate size that puts them well above the small, tetra-like barbs many aquarists are familiar with, closer to a mid-sized river-barb build.
Sikukia is not part of the aquarium trade and is essentially unknown outside regional ichthyological survey work; none of the four atlas species carries an established common name. That obscurity is visible directly in the conservation record - three of the four species are rated Data Deficient, with only one assessed as Least Concern - meaning basic population and range data remain genuinely sparse for most of the genus rather than simply unpublicized.
