Aulonocara korneliae "Chizumulu Island" is the Chizumulu Island population of Aulonocara korneliae, a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the central part of the lake. It is the same species as Aulonocara korneliae, distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Aulonocara korneliae is a small, sand-foraging peacock cichlid endemic to a single speck of Lake Malawi: Chizumulu Island, the smaller of the lake's two inhabited islands. It belongs to the stuartgranti species group, the classic peacocks whose males hover over the sand probing for hidden invertebrates with a face full of enlarged sensory pores. Males in breeding dress are washed in metallic blue and marked by a warm orange blush on the shoulder, a feature that separates this fish from its close relative Aulonocara hueseri of nearby Likoma. It reaches the aquarium trade under provisional labels such as "Blue Gold" and "Chizumulu Aulonocara," but it has never acquired a settled English common name.
