The Lundu population

Labidochromis sp. "Lundu Blue" "Lundu" is the Lundu population of Labidochromis sp. "Lundu Blue", a geographic colour form from the Tanzania coast of Lake Malawi in the northern part of the lake. It is the same species as Labidochromis sp. "Lundu Blue", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species

Labidochromis sp. "Lundu Blue" is an undescribed rock-dwelling cichlid recorded from Lundu, a well-documented locality on Tanzania’s Lake Malawi shore that has produced distinct, separately named populations of numerous mbuna genera. Its trade name identifies it as a blue-bodied form from that reef. It carries no authority, no year, and no FishBase entry.
