Lethrinops sp. "Yellow Tail" "South East Arm" is the South East Arm population of Lethrinops sp. "Yellow Tail", a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the southern part of the lake. It is the same species as Lethrinops sp. "Yellow Tail", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Lethrinops sp. "Yellow Tail" is an undescribed sand-dwelling cichlid recorded from the South East Arm of Lake Malawi. Its trade name points to a yellow caudal fin in breeding males, a straightforward field mark used to separate it from the many other sand-dwelling haplochromines sharing this densely populated stretch of shoreline. Little else has been formally documented about the form, and this article is careful not to extend past what is actually known.
