Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Chirombo" "Chirombo Bay" is the Chirombo Bay population of Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Chirombo", a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the southern part of the lake. It is the same species as Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Chirombo", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Chirombo" is an undescribed haplochromine recorded from Chirombo Bay in the southern basin of Lake Malawi, within the general range of the described weed-bed specialist Placidochromis longimanus. It has not itself been given a formal scientific name.
