Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Mumbo" "Mumbo Island" is the Mumbo Island population of Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Mumbo", a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the southern part of the lake. It is the same species as Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Mumbo", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Placidochromis sp. "Longimanus Mumbo" is an undescribed haplochromine recorded from Mumbo Island in Lake Malawi National Park, within the southern basin where the described weed-bed specialist Placidochromis longimanus occurs. It carries no formal scientific description of its own.
