Tuberoschistura is a small genus of nemacheilid stone loaches from mainland Southeast Asia, found in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The atlas's two species, Tuberoschistura baenzigeri and T. cambodgiensis, are diminutive, reaching only about 1.5 in, and like other nemacheilids they have an elongate, cylindrical body suited to holding position along the bottom of clear, flowing streams rather than open water.
Neither species has a meaningful presence in the aquarium hobby, and published husbandry or field-behavior detail is limited; the genus is best regarded as one of mainly taxonomic and regional-ichthyology interest rather than a hobby staple. Both Tuberoschistura baenzigeri and T. cambodgiensis are currently assessed as Least Concern, suggesting stable, if narrowly documented, populations across their Southeast Asian stream range.
