Taxonomy & naming
This is an undescribed form: no scientific name, authority or type material stands behind it, and its identity and range are not documented in the sources the atlas uses. The form is labelled "cf. rubrostriata", meaning the seller compares it to Melanotaenia rubrostriata, a described species. It has no name of its own. Rawa Biru is a locality label; the atlas does not document where it lies.
Morphology
Imperial Tropicals describes a small fish with long, pointed dorsal and anal fins carrying red spots, and many red stripes along the flanks.
Habitat
The label is a swamp locality. No drainage, coordinates or water measurements are recorded in the atlas.

Imperial Tropicals describes genus-level spawning in weedy areas or on a yarn mop. Breeding of this form is not separately documented.
In the aquarium
Imperial Tropicals recommends a quality flake food with supplements such as baby brine shrimp, clean water, and frequent water changes, which it says bring nearly continuous spawning attempts. No adult size is given in the text the atlas holds.
Conservation
No IUCN assessment exists for this undescribed form. Its range and numbers are not documented, so its conservation status cannot be stated.
