Maylandia sp. "Lime Jalo" "Jalo Reef" is the Jalo Reef population of Maylandia sp. "Lime Jalo", a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the south-central part of the lake. It is the same species as Maylandia sp. "Lime Jalo", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Maylandia sp. "Lime Jalo" is an undescribed mbuna recorded at Jalo Reef on the Malawian shore of Lake Malawi. The trade name pairs a colour descriptor, lime, a yellow-green tone reported in this population, with the reef where it was collected. It is one of several "Lime"-named Maylandia populations scattered around the lake that share the colour trait without necessarily being close relatives of one another. It has no describing author, no FishBase record, and no IUCN assessment.
