About the species
Otopharynx sp. "Silver Torpedo" is an undescribed cichlid recorded at Senga Bay on the central-western Malawian shore of Lake Malawi. Its trade name describes a slender, streamlined, silvery body — a build associated with cruising open water rather than hugging rock or sand, and a departure from the deeper-bodied, more sedentary shape typical of most other Otopharynx forms.
