"Dwarf Nkhata", a geographic colour form from the Malawi coast of Lake Malawi in the central part of the lake. It is the same species as Pseudotropheus sp. "Dwarf Nkhata", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

Pseudotropheus sp. "Dwarf Nkhata" is an undescribed mbuna cichlid recorded from Nkhata Bay on the north-central shore of Lake Malawi. Its trade name flags the trait that field workers and collectors report for it: a noticeably smaller adult size than typical Pseudotropheus, paired with its collection locality. It has never been given a scientific name; no authority, IUCN status, or FishBase entry should be attached to it.
