The Undu Reef population
Tropheops sp. "Yellow Chin" "Undu Reef" is the Undu Reef population of Tropheops sp. "Yellow Chin", a geographic colour form from the Tanzania coast of Lake Malawi in the northern part of the lake. It is the same species as Tropheops sp. "Yellow Chin", distinguished by its collection locality and local coloration; aquarists keep and breed it as a discrete, provenance-labelled line.

About the species
Tropheops sp. "Yellow Chin" is an undescribed rock-dwelling mbuna recorded chiefly from a cluster of localities in the central-western part of Lake Malawi, with an additional record from the Tanzanian shore. Its trade name refers to a yellow marking on the lower jaw reported in males, set against the blue body typical of the genus. As with several Tropheops trade forms, no dedicated published description exists beyond its recognition as a distinct population by collectors and hobbyists. It carries no authority, no publication year, no FishBase number, and no IUCN assessment.
