Dan's Fish sells this fish as the "Fantastique Congo Tetra" and files it under Phenacogrammus. This is an undescribed form: its identity and range are not documented in the atlas's sources. "Fantastique" is a trade name.
Morphology
Dan's Fish says the juveniles it ships are small, that some have begun developing colour, and that the males become stunning as they mature. No colour is described in detail.
Habitat
The seller gives no origin beyond the "Congo" in the trade name. Phenacogrammus is an African genus of the family Alestidae, found in the Congo Basin and West Africa; the best known member in the hobby is the Congo tetra, Phenacogrammus interruptus (genus-level).
