Taxonomy & naming
This is an undescribed form: no scientific name, authority or type material stands behind it, and its identity and range are not documented in the sources the atlas uses. "Sentang" is a hobby locality label. Wet Spot lists the fish as Parosphromenus sintangensis, which is not an available name; the atlas treats the form as undescribed and files it under the label used by Seriously Fish.
Morphology
The listing gives no description. Liquorice gouramis are small, slender fish in which males carry strong red, blue or orange fin colours in display (genus-level).
Habitat
Seriously Fish places the form in Jambi province, Sumatra. Parosphromenus live in blackwater streams and peat swamp forest in Southeast Asia, in acidic, very soft water (genus-level).
Feeding
Parosphromenus take small live and frozen foods such as copepods, Daphnia and baby brine shrimp (genus-level).
Mating
Males court from a cave and display head-down to the female (genus-level). Spawning of this form is not documented.
Breeding
Parosphromenus spawn in small caves, where the pair embrace under the roof and the male guards the eggs and fry (genus-level). No captive-breeding record for this form is held by the atlas.
In the aquarium
The listing carries no size, water or care figures. Parosphromenus generally need soft, acidic, dim and calm conditions with small caves (genus-level).
Conservation
No IUCN assessment exists for this undescribed form. Its range and numbers are not documented, so its conservation status cannot be stated.
