Taxonomy & naming
This is an undescribed form: no scientific name, authority or type material stands behind it, and its identity and range are not documented in the sources the atlas uses. C121 is a Corydoras catalogue C-number. Imperial Tropicals lists it as Hoplisoma sp. (C121) and says it resembles the traditional Adolfo's hoplisoma, Hoplisoma adolfoi, and a few other corydoradines from the Rio Negro.
Morphology
Imperial Tropicals says it looks the same as the traditional Adolfo's hoplisoma except for a clear gill plate that shows the dark red gills beneath, so the fish looks as if it is blushing.
Habitat
The seller ties its look-alikes to the Rio Negro. No collection locality for this form is recorded.
Feeding
Corydoradines are bottom-feeding omnivores that sift sand with their barbels (genus-level); no diet is documented for this form.

Breeding
No captive-breeding record for this form is held by the atlas.
In the aquarium
No size, water or care figures are held beyond genus-level practice: sand to sift and a group.
Conservation
No IUCN assessment exists for this undescribed form. Its range and numbers are not documented, so its conservation status cannot be stated.
