Corydoras · names

Every name, resolved

Cory taxonomy shifted in 2024 when Dias, Tencatt and colleagues split the old catch-all Corydoras into several natural genera — Hoplisoma, Brochis, Osteogaster, Gastrodermus and others. Nearly every cory now has two valid scientific names: the hobby name the fish has been sold under for decades, and a current binomial in its new genus. This index cross-references all three layers — the 264 familiar hobby names, 138 current valid binomials that differ from the hobby name, and 465 common names — and resolves each one to its species page.
