Taxonomy & naming
This is an undescribed form: no scientific name, authority or type material stands behind it, and its identity and range are not documented in the sources the atlas uses. CW010 is a Corydoras World code. Imperial Tropicals says the fish was classified as Corydoras sp. CW010 and has since been reclassified into Osteogaster, a lineage of former Corydoras. Four sellers list it: Aqua Huna and Dan's Fish as the gold laser cory, Imperial Tropicals as the gold laser Osteogaster, and Aqua Haus Gaus as a red laser cory in the 1.5 in size. Dan's Fish also lists a long fin form.
Morphology
Imperial Tropicals describes olive-green bodies with a fluorescent gold sheen over the scales and a bright orange streak running from the eye along the back to the caudal peduncle. The long fin form sold by Dan's Fish is described as having long flowing fins that develop as juveniles mature.
Habitat
Imperial Tropicals says the fish is native to Peru. No habitat measurements are recorded in the atlas's sources.
Feeding
Corydoradines are bottom-feeding omnivores that sift sand with their barbels (genus-level). Imperial Tropicals says these fish forage constantly.
Mating
Like other corydoradines, the group spawns in the T-position, the female carrying eggs in her pelvic fins before sticking them to a surface (genus-level). Spawning of this form is not documented.
Breeding
Dan's Fish lists its stock as aquarium bred and raised. No further breeding record for this form is held by the atlas.
In the aquarium
Dan's Fish gives an adult size of around 2.5–3 inches (about 2.5–3 in) for both the regular and long fin forms, with shipping sizes of 1–2 inches. Dan's Fish calls most Corydoras peaceful community fish. These are seller figures only. As with other corydoradines, keep a group on sand.
Conservation
No IUCN assessment exists for this undescribed form. Its range and numbers are not documented, so its conservation status cannot be stated.
