Taxonomy & naming
This is an undescribed form: no scientific name, authority or type material stands behind it, and its identity and range are not documented in the sources the atlas uses. CW023 is a Corydoras World code. Imperial Tropicals says it was filed as Corydoras sp. CW023 before the 2024 revision and is now listed under Osteogaster. Dan's Fish reports that experts think CW023 and CW014 may be the same species; the atlas cannot confirm that.
Morphology
Imperial Tropicals says it resembles the gold laser, Osteogaster sp. CW010, but has a shorter orange stripe starting at the shoulder, a rounder belly and less olive colour, with a more coppery body.
Habitat
The atlas holds no collection locality or habitat data for this form.
Feeding
Corydoradines are bottom-feeding omnivores that sift sand with their barbels (genus-level); no diet is documented for this form.
Mating
Like other corydoradines, the genus spawns in the T-position, the female carrying eggs in her pelvic fins before sticking them to a surface. Spawning of this form is not documented.
Breeding
No captive-breeding record for this form is held by the atlas.
In the aquarium
Dan's Fish lists an adult size of around 2.5–3 in and a shipping size of 1.5–2.5 in, and calls the genus a peaceful community fish. Corydoradines suit sand and a group of their own kind.
Conservation
No IUCN assessment exists for this undescribed form. Its range and numbers are not documented, so its conservation status cannot be stated.
