Oryzias moramoensis is a ricefish from southeast Sulawesi, described in 2024 from the Moramo Waterfall area. FishBase gives a maximum of 1 in SL.

Taxonomy & naming

Utama, Mokodongan, Lawelle, Masengi and Yamahira described the species in 2024 from the Moramo Waterfall in the Konawe Selatan Regency. The name refers to the Moramo subdistrict.

Morphology

A small ricefish; FishBase gives a maximum of 1 in SL.

Habitat

Streams near the Moramo Waterfall, southeast Sulawesi. FishBase says it occurs from headstream waters, including cascade waterfalls, down to small lower-reach streams about 3–7 ft deep with low flow over sand and gravel.
