Katondo Point is a rocky point on Cape Mpimbwe, on Lake Tanganyika's Tanzanian shore, about 1 km south-south-west of Shashete Bay.

The site
Site captions describe Cape Mpimbwe as a large promontory with several bays and points, of which Katondo Point is called one of the larger rocky habitats. A foraging group of Tropheus sp. 'Mpimbwe' ('Red Cheek') has been photographed in the shallows here.
