Given the scarcity of documented information, prospective keepers should treat this as a poorly known species rather than an established aquarium fish.

Its documentation from a single locality, Msaka, suggests either a genuinely restricted range or simply a lack of survey effort across the wider lake — a distinction that has not been resolved.
